RE-ISSUE FROM 1999
100 COPIES

"You might hear some pretty straightforward distorted DBeat hardcore with barked, snotty vocals...but context is important. In the late 1990s, the hardcore scene in Indonesia was still relatively young, and these kids....they were fukkn insane. Raw, blown out rippers and a middle finger pointed straight at high towards authority (especially cops, of course), KEPARAT must have been positively devastating in their prime, and even more so surrounded by hungry punks discovering that there was a world of noise at their disposal. All praise for reissues, I suppose, because none of the 100 copies of this demo that dropped back in '99 are likely to ever make it anywhere near my grubby mitts" - TERMINAL ESCAPE

"Here's something different... a Malaysian band singing in Finnish and doing total Finnish punk worship! I think a lot of people write off a lot of east Asian punk that isn't from Japan as being derivative and kind of boring, but that's not the case with Vaarallinen... they totally NAIL the old Finnish punk sound a la Rattus, Melakka, etc., combining blitzkrieg, Discharge-influenced rhythms with a little bit of UK82 catchiness. If you're into bands like the aforementioned or Appendix you'll love this. Killer!"-Sorry State Records

"I'm so lucky to be reviewing this split tape! The packaging is well done and screen-printed with fold out lyrics. Both bands are from Jakarta, Indonesia, The HELLOWAR side is super melodic crust in that PARASYTIC or ATAKKE style. It's metal punk to the blackest core, with a rich bass, brutal satanic vocals, strong driving drums and pretty guitar intros: a total headbanger. PEACE OR ANNIHILATION is a band that references CRUCIFIX in its name, which states its political stance in an in-your face way. PEACE OR ANNIHILATION does not sound like CRUCIFIX, but still has that desperate 80's feel with a mid-era DISCHARGE sound, complete with a solid D-BEAT. Like HELLOWAR, it has a metallic vibe (at times) more due to the Scandi guitar being slightly blackened and galloping, but it's pure raw D-beat delight without overdoing the noise. This side is a total rager. It has pogo intro perfection at times and the vocals are so totally Cal without being reverbed to hell like their contemporaries in this genre. The singer screams viscerally, in a WRETCHED or EU'S ARSE -feeling style with Cal cadences. If you like ANTI-CIMEX, DISCHARGE, DISASTER or MOB47, check these guy out! This band brings warmth to my jaded gut that makes me yearns for a US tour and/or more releases now. They must be spread to the masses in all hemispheres! Full force hardcore destruction, indeed!" - (Amelia - MRR #350)

Noise and DISCHARGE influence in the vein of NO FUCKER. Their name is a DOOM reference, FYI. Same vocal devastation similar to ABSURD SYSTEM with wailing Scandi guitars held down by superbly done D-Beat. I picked this up to review specifically based on the fact that the cover is a studded jacket with DISASTER written on the back and I'm glad I did. Full Force Hardcore Destruction put this out" - Amelia - MRR #345
